Honest Logistics

Getting to the Circuit from Pune

The Golden Triangle sits roughly 1,400 kilometres north of Pune. Almost every traveller reaches it by air or rail and picks up the chauffeur-driven vehicle at the circuit itself. Here is how each option works.

By Flight

The fastest option. Direct flights operate from Pune to Delhi and from Jaipur back to Pune, which lets you fly into one end of the circuit and out of the other without retracing the drive. Airfare is booked by you or on your behalf at the airline's prevailing price — we do not mark it up or quote a fixed fare for it.

Chauffeur meets you at the arrival terminal

By Train

Several long-distance trains connect Pune with Delhi, Agra and Jaipur. Rail suits travellers who prefer a slower approach or are carrying heavy luggage. Ticket class, availability and fare depend entirely on IRCTC at the time of booking, so we plan the vehicle around your confirmed arrival time rather than quoting a rail fare.

Station pickup included in the package

By Road from Pune

The full drive from Pune to Delhi is possible but long — it adds several days in each direction and is billed on the standard outstation per-kilometre rates with driver allowance and night halts. Most travellers prefer to fly or take the train and use the chauffeur-driven vehicle only on the circuit itself.

Quoted on the per-km rate card below

We do not quote airfares or rail fares because they change daily and are set by the airline or IRCTC, not by us. Share your confirmed arrival time and the vehicle will be at the terminal to meet it.

Day By Day

The 5-Day Itinerary, City by City

Two days in Delhi, one in Agra and two across the Fatehpur Sikri transfer and Jaipur. Every leg is driven in your private vehicle with the chauffeur waiting between monuments.

Leg 01

Delhi

National Capital Territory

The Mughal and Sultanate capital. Wide ceremonial avenues, a walled old city and two UNESCO World Heritage monuments within a single day of driving.

Day 1

Arrival in Delhi & Evening Orientation

Your chauffeur meets you at Indira Gandhi International Airport or New Delhi railway station and stays on standby for the rest of the day. After you settle in, a relaxed orientation drive covers India Gate, Rajpath, the Parliament precinct and Connaught Place so you get your bearings before the full sightseeing day.

  • Airport or station pickup
  • India Gate
  • Rajpath drive
  • Connaught Place
Day 2

Old and New Delhi Heritage Day

A full day with the vehicle at your disposal. Morning covers the Red Fort and the lanes around Chandni Chowk and Jama Masjid in Old Delhi. The afternoon moves south to Qutub Minar, Humayun's Tomb and the Lotus Temple, with the driver repositioning between each monument so you never walk back to a distant parking bay.

  • Red Fort
  • Jama Masjid & Chandni Chowk
  • Qutub Minar
  • Humayun's Tomb
Leg 02

Agra

Uttar Pradesh

Roughly 230 kilometres from Delhi on the Yamuna Expressway, a three to four hour drive. The city holds the finest surviving Mughal architecture in India.

Day 3

Delhi to Agra — Taj Mahal & Agra Fort

An early departure on the Yamuna Expressway puts you in Agra before the midday heat. The Taj Mahal is visited first, ideally soon after sunrise light softens the marble, followed by the red sandstone Agra Fort with its Diwan-i-Aam, Jahangir Mahal and the Musamman Burj view across the river to the Taj. Mehtab Bagh is an optional sunset stop on the opposite bank.

  • Yamuna Expressway drive
  • Taj Mahal
  • Agra Fort
  • Mehtab Bagh (optional)
Leg 03

Jaipur

Rajasthan

About 240 kilometres from Agra via Fatehpur Sikri and Bharatpur, a five to six hour drive with sightseeing built into the transfer day.

Day 4

Agra to Jaipur via Fatehpur Sikri Heritage Walk

The transfer day doubles as a sightseeing day. Fatehpur Sikri, Akbar's abandoned capital, sits directly on the route — the Buland Darwaza, Jama Masjid, Panch Mahal and Diwan-i-Khas are covered on a walking circuit before you continue west into Rajasthan. Arrival in Jaipur is usually late afternoon, leaving the evening free for the bazaars around Johari and Bapu.

  • Fatehpur Sikri
  • Buland Darwaza
  • Panch Mahal
  • Jaipur bazaars
Day 5

Jaipur Pink City & Onward Departure

Amer Fort in the morning, with its Sheesh Mahal and terraced courtyards, then a photo halt at Jal Mahal set in Man Sagar lake. The city circuit continues to Hawa Mahal, the City Palace and the Jantar Mantar observatory. Your chauffeur then drops you at Jaipur International Airport or Jaipur Junction railway station for the journey home to Pune.

  • Amer Fort
  • Jal Mahal
  • Hawa Mahal & City Palace
  • Airport or station drop

Want to extend the circuit?

Ranthambore, Pushkar, Mathura and Vrindavan all sit within comfortable driving distance of this route. Additional kilometres are billed on the published per-kilometre rate card below, quoted to you before you confirm.

The Four Landmarks This Package Is Built Around

Mughal capitals, a Rajput hill fort and an abandoned imperial city, sequenced so you are never doubling back across the same highway.

01
Agra

Taj Mahal & Agra Fort

The white marble mausoleum built by Shah Jahan for Mumtaz Mahal, completed in the mid-seventeenth century and inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Paired the same day with Agra Fort, the walled red sandstone imperial residence a short drive upriver.

02
Delhi

Delhi Red Fort & Qutub Minar

Two UNESCO World Heritage Sites in one city. The Red Fort was the Mughal seat of power from Shah Jahan onward, while the Qutub Minar is a twelfth-century brick and sandstone victory tower standing about 73 metres tall in Mehrauli.

03
Jaipur

Jaipur Amer Fort & Jal Mahal

Amer Fort rises above Maota lake in a mix of Rajput and Mughal design, with the mirrored Sheesh Mahal as its best-known chamber. Jal Mahal, the palace that appears to float in Man Sagar lake, is a short halt on the road back into the walled city.

04
En route Agra – Jaipur

Fatehpur Sikri Heritage Walk

Akbar's planned capital, occupied only briefly in the sixteenth century and remarkably intact today. The walking circuit takes in the Buland Darwaza gateway, the Jama Masjid courtyard, Panch Mahal and the Diwan-i-Khas before you continue toward Rajasthan.

Got Questions?

Golden Triangle Package FAQs

Coverage, vehicle rates, tickets and the best season for the Delhi – Agra – Jaipur circuit.

What does the Golden Triangle package from Pune actually cover?

The package is a 5 Days / 4 Nights chauffeur-driven circuit of Delhi, Agra and Jaipur starting from ₹16,200. It covers a private air-conditioned vehicle with a dedicated driver on standby for the full circuit, fuel, driver allowance and all inter-city transfers between the three cities, including the Fatehpur Sikri leg between Agra and Jaipur. Flights or train tickets between Pune and the circuit, hotels, monument entry tickets and meals are not included unless separately quoted.

How do I reach Delhi from Pune for this tour?

Most travellers fly from Pune to Delhi and return from Jaipur, which avoids backtracking. Trains from Pune to Delhi, Agra and Jaipur are also a common choice. Airfare and rail fare depend on the airline or IRCTC at the time of booking, so we do not quote a fixed price for them — we simply plan the vehicle and chauffeur around your confirmed arrival and departure times. Driving all the way from Pune is possible and is billed on our standard outstation per-kilometre rates.

How is the vehicle charged if I extend the itinerary?

Any driving beyond the confirmed itinerary is billed on our published outstation rates: ₹13 per km for an AC Sedan, ₹16 per km for an Ertiga, ₹22 per km for an Innova Crysta (each with a 250 km per day minimum average) and ₹32 per km for a Tempo Traveller (300 km per day minimum average). Driver allowance is ₹500 per day and night halt is ₹500 per night, with toll and parking extra.

Which vehicle should a family of five or six choose?

An Ertiga seats six and works well for a family with light luggage. For five or six travellers carrying full suitcases across a five-day circuit, the Innova Crysta is the more comfortable choice — it seats seven and takes four large bags without stacking them on laps. Groups of thirteen or more should book a Tempo Traveller.

Are Taj Mahal and monument entry tickets included?

No. Entry tickets, camera fees and licensed guide charges at the Taj Mahal, Agra Fort, Red Fort, Qutub Minar, Amer Fort and other monuments are paid directly by you at each site. This keeps the package price honest, since ticket rates differ for Indian and foreign nationals and change from time to time. Your chauffeur will drop you at the correct entry gate and wait at the designated parking area.

When is the best time to do the Golden Triangle?

October to March is the most comfortable window. Daytime temperatures across Delhi, Agra and Jaipur are pleasant for walking through open fort courtyards, and the light is good for photography. April to June is very hot in this region and July to September brings monsoon rain, though the circuit runs year round if those months suit your schedule better.

Can the itinerary be customised or extended?

Yes. Common extensions include adding Ranthambore or Pushkar after Jaipur, adding Mathura and Vrindavan near Agra, or stretching Delhi to two full sightseeing days. Tell our tours desk on +91 97650 66565 what you want to add and we will rework the driving order and re-quote the kilometres before you confirm.
