    Day 05

    Rann of Kutch & Return

Distances in Gujarat are long and the Saurashtra legs in particular are full driving days. Departure times are set by your chauffeur the previous evening so that darshan and monument visits fall comfortably inside opening hours.

Package Highlights

Four Landmarks That Define This Tour

A tallest-in-the-world monument, two of India's most significant temples and a salt desert that only appears for part of the year.

World's Tallest Statue

Statue of Unity, Kevadia

Standing 182 metres tall on the Narmada river near the Sardar Sarovar Dam, the Statue of Unity honours Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and is the tallest statue in the world. A high-level viewing gallery inside the monument looks out over the dam and the Satpura and Vindhya ranges.

Char Dham Pilgrimage

Dwarkadhish Temple Darshan

Dwarka, on the western tip of Gujarat, is one of the four Char Dham sites. The Dwarkadhish Temple, dedicated to Krishna as the king of Dwarka, dominates the old town with its tall shikhara and its ceremonial flag that is changed several times a day.

First of Twelve Jyotirlingas

Somnath Jyotirlinga

Somnath sits directly on the Arabian Sea coast and is counted as the first of the twelve Jyotirlinga shrines of Shiva. The present temple was rebuilt in the twentieth century on the historic site, and the sea-facing complex is one of the most atmospheric temple settings in India.

Seasonal Salt Flats

Rann of Kutch White Desert

The Great Rann of Kutch is a vast seasonal salt marsh that dries into a white crust after the monsoon. The open, horizon-to-horizon salt flats are the reason the winter months from October to March are the recommended travel window for this itinerary.

Before You Book

Planning Notes for Gujarat

Four things worth knowing before you fix a departure date, based on how this circuit actually runs on the road.

Talk to the tours desk: +91 97650 66565

When to travel

October to March is the recommended window. Winter keeps the long Saurashtra drives comfortable and it is the season when the Rann of Kutch salt flats are dry and open to visitors.

How the driving is paced

Gujarat is a large state and this itinerary covers its western and northern edges. Transfer days start early so that temple darshan and monument visits fall inside opening hours.

Temple timings

Dwarkadhish and Somnath both close for parts of the afternoon and hold scheduled aartis. Your chauffeur confirms the day's timings locally so the stop is planned around them.

Group and family travel

Families and groups can move up to a high-roof Tempo Traveller with pushback seats and a dedicated luggage bay, billed at the published per-kilometre rate for that category.

Why families book Gujarat with KP Travels

A five-day interstate circuit is not a place to discover that your operator has no phone number. Ours has been the same one for sixteen years.

16+ Years on Interstate Roads

KP Travels has run outstation and interstate circuits out of Pune since 2009, with over 1,00,000 happy passengers.

Chauffeurs Who Know Gujarat

Long Saurashtra transfers are handed to drivers who have run the Dwarka and Somnath corridors before, not first-time visitors.

One Fixed Quotation

Your per-kilometre rate, driver allowance and night halt are agreed in writing before departure. No surge, no revision mid-trip.

A Real Dispatch Room

A Pune control room answers +91 90116 16565 around the clock, so there is always a human to call from the road.

Got Questions?

Gujarat Tour Package FAQs

Coverage, season, pricing and customisation for the Statue of Unity and Saurashtra circuit from Pune.

What does the Gujarat Cultural & Statue of Unity Tour cover?

The 5 Days / 4 Nights itinerary starts and ends in Pune and covers the Statue of Unity at Kevadia, darshan at the Dwarkadhish Temple in Dwarka, the Somnath Jyotirlinga on the Arabian Sea coast, and the white salt desert of the Rann of Kutch. The package starts from ₹15,000 and the exact quotation depends on the vehicle category you choose.

What is the best time of year for this Gujarat tour?

October to March is the recommended window. Winter keeps the long Saurashtra driving days comfortable, and it is the period when the Rann of Kutch salt flats have dried after the monsoon and are open to visitors. Summer travel is possible but the desert leg is far less rewarding.

How is the tour priced if I extend or change the route?

Any distance beyond the agreed itinerary is billed on our published outstation rates: ₹13 per km for a Sedan, ₹16 per km for an Ertiga, ₹22 per km for an Innova Crysta with a 250 km per day minimum average, and ₹32 per km for a Tempo Traveller with a 300 km per day minimum average. Driver allowance is ₹500 per day and night halt is ₹500 per night, with toll and parking extra.

Are hotels and monument entry tickets included?

No. The package covers the private AC vehicle, chauffeur, fuel and driver allowance. Hotel accommodation is arranged only if you specifically ask for it to be included in the quotation, and entry tickets for the Statue of Unity, temples and other monuments are paid directly by you at the venue.

Which vehicle should a family of six choose?

For six passengers on a multi-day interstate route we usually recommend an Ertiga at ₹16 per km or an Innova Crysta at ₹22 per km, since the Crysta gives more legroom and luggage space over long transfer days. Groups larger than seven move to a 13 to 26 seater Tempo Traveller at ₹32 per km.

Can the itinerary be customised or shortened?

Yes. The five-day plan is a starting point. You can drop the Rann of Kutch leg, add extra nights at Dwarka or Somnath, or begin the trip on a different day of the week. Send us the version you want and we will re-quote the kilometres and the number of night halts accordingly.

How do I book and who do I contact?

Call our tours desk on +91 97650 66565 or the general helpline on +91 90116 16565, or message us on WhatsApp at +91 90116 16565. Our office is at 89/300 Laxmi Nagar, Near Parvati Police Station, Pune 411009.
