Panorama Point
Sunrise walkThe classic sunrise ridge toward Neral. A genuine walk, not a roadside halt. In the monsoon you can stand in fog with no horizon. Treat sunrise as a hope, not a promise.
Matheran is a vehicle-free peaceful hill stationabout 120 to 130 kilometres from Pune — a 3 to 3.5 hour drive to Dasturi Naka. Private cars go no further. The last mile is on foot, horseback, or the toy train when it is running. We do not promise train tickets.

₹17,000 (2 Adults) · AC Dzire drop/standby · 1 AC hotel room
Most hill stations still let a car roll up to the hotel porch. Matheran does not. The eco-sensitive rule is the whole character of the place: once you leave the vehicle at Dasturi Naka, the rest of the stay is walking, horses, and — only if the railway is running — a toy train. That is not a footnote. It is the trip.
Your AC Dzire takes you from the Pune doorstep to Dasturi Naka (also called Dasturi Point) and waits there. The chauffeur does not enter Matheran. Luggage goes with you on the last two kilometres — carried, walked, or put on a locally hired horse. Coolie charges, if you use a porter, are paid directly at the naka.
Vehicle-free peaceful hill station. Includes AC Dzire drop/standby at Dasturi Point, 1 AC Hotel Room, toll, parking & driver allowance.
The default last mile. From Dasturi Naka the bazaar and most hotels sit roughly two kilometres uphill. It is a steady climb with luggage, and in the monsoon the stones get slick. Wear grip footwear.
No extra ticket. Your chauffeur stays with the car at Dasturi.
Handlers wait at Dasturi for travellers who would rather not walk with bags. Rates and bargaining are between you and the local operator. KP Travels does not book, price or guarantee a horse.
Paid directly by you. Not included in the package.
The Neral–Matheran toy train and the Aman Lodge shuttle are run by the railway, not by us. Services close in rain, for maintenance, or when tickets sell out. We never hold, book or promise seats.
Availability only. We do not sell or guarantee tickets.
These are the stops we actually plan around on a 2 Days / 1 Night stay. None of them have a car park. Visibility in the monsoon is a matter of luck, and a socked-in ridge is still a ridge — we do not re-route you to a different hill station because the cloud sat down.

Vehicle-free peaceful hill station. Includes AC Dzire drop/standby at Dasturi Point, 1 AC Hotel Room, toll, parking & driver allowance. Viewpoints, meals and the last-mile horse or toy train sit outside that figure.
The classic sunrise ridge toward Neral. A genuine walk, not a roadside halt. In the monsoon you can stand in fog with no horizon. Treat sunrise as a hope, not a promise.
A compact cliff stop on the afternoon circuit. Pair it with Louisa Point on the same loop. On crowded weekends you will hear visitors more than the valley.
A broader ledge toward the Prabal and Vishalgad ridges. Late afternoon is the usual reason to come. When cloud sits on the plateau the view simply disappears.
The hill station's lake, with a quiet path and the small Pisarnath temple nearby. The least demanding walk, and the one that still works when the cliffs are socked in.
A quieter ridge walk than the bazaar circuit. Skip it if knees, children or heavy rain make a long uneven path a bad idea — nothing here is compulsory.
The Maharashtra hub lists this as a 2 Days / 1 Night trip, not a same-day return. The windows below are planning ranges. Walking speed, monsoon fog and toy-train availability are the variables we cannot fix from Pune.
Pickup anywhere in Pune, PCMC or near PNQ. An 07:00 start puts you at Dasturi before the late-morning horse and porter crush, which matters if you walk the last mile with luggage.
120 to 130 km, about 3 to 3.5 hours via the Karjat approach. One tea halt is standard. Private cars stop at Dasturi Naka — there is no road into the hill station.
Walk, hire a horse locally, or use the toy train only if it is running. One AC hotel room is included; the property is confirmed in writing at booking. The chauffeur stays with the car at Dasturi.
The short afternoon circuit from most hotels. Lunch is your own expense. If cloud has closed the cliffs, Charlotte Lake is still worth the walk. No vehicle hops between points.
A long pre-dawn walk from the bazaar. Go if the sky looks open; turn back if it is socked in. A missed sunrise is not a failed trip.
A slower morning on ridges you skipped yesterday. One Tree Hill fits if the group still has legs. Checkout depends on the hotel we confirm, so the walk back to Dasturi has a buffer.
The same two-kilometre path downhill with luggage. Meet the chauffeur at the naka. A horse on the way down is a local arrangement, paid by you.
The same 120 to 130 km back, with a lunch halt if you want one. Doorstep drop is typically late afternoon; festival and monsoon jams on the Karjat stretch can push that later.
From June to September the plateau is often inside a cloud. Paths from Dasturi are wet. Viewpoints may show nothing. We still run the trip because the forest, the lake and the quiet are the point — but if you are travelling only for a photograph of the valley, pick a winter weekend instead.
The published hill tour is ₹17,000 (2 Adults) for 2 Days / 1 Night in an AC Dzire. Other vehicles, extra nights and group Tempo trips are billed on these verified KP Travels outstation rates. Every category still stops at Dasturi Naka. A Tempo Traveller does not get you closer to the hotel. The last mile remains a walk, a locally hired horse, or a toy train only when the railway is running.
Vehicle-free peaceful hill station. Includes AC Dzire drop/standby at Dasturi Point, 1 AC Hotel Room, toll, parking & driver allowance. Everything else on the hill is paid by you.

A Pune travel house that will tell you the car stops at Dasturi, instead of pretending there is a hotel driveway on the hill.
KP Travels has been sending Pune families to the Sahyadri hill stations for sixteen years, with over 1,00,000 happy passengers on record.
Chauffeurs who know where private cars actually stop, where they wait, and that there is no driving past the naka into Matheran.
The vehicle category and the fare go to you in writing before you pay. Monsoon weekends do not change the agreed figure after confirmation.
A real Pune control room on +91 90116 16565 and a tours desk on +91 97650 66565, reachable while you are on the hill, not a chatbot queue.
The useful knowledge on this corridor is small and practical: where private cars are allowed to wait at Dasturi, how long the last-mile walk actually takes with bags, and that a Tempo Traveller still cannot enter the bazaar. Over 1,00,000 passengers have travelled with KP Travels. The desk that plans your trip is the same desk you can call from the naka.

Distance, the Dasturi drop, package fare, toy train, monsoon walking and vehicle rates.
Pune to Dasturi Naka / Matheran is roughly 120 to 130 kilometres and the drive takes about three to three and a half hours each way, depending on the Karjat approach and weekend traffic. Private cars stop at Dasturi Naka. The last stretch into the hill station is on foot, horseback, or the toy train when it is running.
No. Matheran is a vehicle-free, eco-sensitive hill station. Your chauffeur drops you at Dasturi Naka and stays with the car there for the duration of the stay. There is no private-car access to the bazaar, the hotel, or the viewpoints. Plan the last two kilometres as a walk, a locally hired horse, or a toy-train ride only if service is actually operating that day.
The published package is ₹17,000 for 2 adults, for 2 Days / 1 Night. It is a vehicle-free peaceful hill-station trip and includes an AC Dzire drop and standby at Dasturi Point, 1 AC hotel room, toll, parking and driver allowance. These are the same figures as our Maharashtra tour packages hub. Meals, toy-train tickets, horse rides and entry fees are not included.
No. Horse rides are hired on the spot at Dasturi Naka and paid directly by you. The toy train is run by the railway and is subject to weather, maintenance and ticket availability — we never sell, hold or promise seats. Walk from Dasturi if you need a last mile that does not depend on a third party.
June to September is wet, green and often fogged in. Viewpoints such as Panorama Point, Echo Point and Louisa Point can have no visibility at all, and the pedestrian paths from Dasturi are slippery. Charlotte Lake is usually still worth the walk. We do not cancel for cloud, and we do not promise a sunrise. Wear grip footwear and keep a day of walking in mind rather than a day of views.
The last mile from Dasturi Naka to the bazaar is about two kilometres uphill, then every viewpoint is a further walk from your hotel. Panorama Point and One Tree Hill are the longer ones. There are no vehicles inside Matheran to shorten that. Families with very small children, strollers, or travellers who cannot manage a sustained climb should talk to our tours desk before booking, or plan to hire a horse locally for the Dasturi stretch.
The ₹17,000 figure is the published 2 Days / 1 Night package for 2 adults in an AC Dzire.
